Welcome to Eye Clinic of Austin

One of Austin's Leading LASIK & Corneal Clinics

Eye-Clinic-of-Austin-Texas-Lasik-c1-12.pngDr. Thomas Henderson and Dr. Clayton Falknor are two of the leading laser vision correction specialists in Austin, having performed over 2,500 successful procedures and employing two of the most advanced lasers in use today.  Three areas specifically distinguish our surgeons in the minds of our patients:

  1. Their expertise is obvious in both the results they produce and the way they conduct themselves when you talk with them.  They seem to know exactly what to do for each set of eyes and give their patients the information they need to make their best choice.
  2. When you research the most advanced technology in the LASIK field, you will find that two names are mentioned as the best, VISX S4 IR™ and the Intralase™ laser.  Our surgeons have taken the time to invest in this technology because they know it will give our patients the best results.
  3. The two major points of hesitation for most people in having LASIK is safety and achieving the goal of 20/20 vision.  Our surgeons' track records speaks volumes about the safety element.  The confidence in their ability to produce 20/20 or better vision is evidenced by the fact that over 90% of our patients receive 20/20 or better vision after laser vision correction at the Eye Clinic of Austin.

Please take the time to browse all the sections of this website. We hope the information contained on this site will help answer any questions you may have.

I only wish I'd done it sooner!

The following are major questions most people have about whether they should replace their glasses and contacts with the clear natural vision that only LASIK can provide:

  • What assurance can you give me that I'll achieve 20/20?
  • How much of a risk will I be taking?
  • What makes you better than any other LASIK surgeon?
  • How affordable is it really?  Will it all be worth it?

We've designed this website so you can get answers to these questions easily.  Learn more about LASIK and begin your journey.  May your life never be restricted by poor vision again!

Better and Safer Than Contacts

  • Wind, dust, sports & allergies; big problem for contacts - not a problem with LASIK.
  • Recent studies show LASIK is up to 5 times safer than contacts.  When you consider the risks of scratched corneas, eye fungus or other diseases from contacts, it makes sense that LASIK proves to be much safer than contacts.
  • If you're wearing contacts, you're already paying for LASIK.  Add up the costs over a twelve to fifteen year period and you've probably paid for LASIK.  Low interest financing solves most budget concerns.

LASIK is the fastest-growing and most accepted form of laser vision correction.  LASIK can treat both nearsightedness and farsightedness, with or without astigmatism.  The benefits of LASIK are many, including fast visual recovery, little or no discomfort, lower risk of haze, glare and halos, and in many cases the resulting vision is even better than with glasses or contacts.

LASIK has quickly emerged as one of the true medical breakthroughs of modern history.  Learn more here.

Eye-Clinic-of-Austin-Texas-Lasik-c1-13.pngWhat Are Cataracts?

A cataract is a cloudy area in the normally clear lens inside the front of the eye.  Cataracts are caused by a chemical change of unknown origin in the eye, and cause blurred or distorted vision.  They cannot be prevented from forming, but early detection through regular eye exams can help maintain the clearest vision possible.  In many cases, surgery is used to clear up cataracts and help restore vision.
